Who was responsible for that idea of remaking the superior Dick York as Darrin episodes?Elizabeth Montgomery?ABC-TV?Screen Gems/Columbia Pictures TV?,William Asher?Or had the writers run out of ideas?

By the last season I think the writers ran out of steam.

All this remake stuff is much ado about nothing in my view.

They started remaking episodes as early as the 2nd season with one that year, two in seasons 3 through 5 & three in seasons 6 & 7.

Even Season 8 had only three in the first 23 episodes they made that season.

Even the remakes themselves were changed around with the vast majority of each of them made different & new episodes in effect.

Agreed. They were recycling material even when Dick York was still playing Darrin. Why they didn't hire new writers is beyond me.
