In honor of the passing of Dixie Carter please post your favorite Julia Sugarbaker moment.
Mine has to be when after she ripped into Suzanne's rival beauty queen, she's like..."and THAT' S.......the NIGHT.......the LIGHTS......WENT OUT......IN GEORGIA!!!!!!!"

Mine is when Julia got her head stuck in between the bars of the staircase - she and the other girls were desperately trying to hide it and not let anyone else find out. They were at some fancy dinner party or something.

I loved when Julia was on Jury Duty and she threatened Charlene and everyone on the jury .. I also loved when she sang How Great Thou Art...she had a gorgeous voice that can be heard through out heaven now.

Mine would be the speech she gives from the staircase to Mary Ann Mobley and the tourists on the Historical Homes tour from the 1990-91 season opener "Blast From the Past". It starts with "All right! That's it! This is not a whorehouse. This is MY house, and I have had all I'm gonna take of you..."

I loved when she blows up towards the end of "Blame It on New Orleans." That was a great build up. She has so many comic moments, and then there are moments that really just make me sad, because of the irony of these: "Heart Attacks" and "The Big Circle." She nearly loses Reese in the first one and then lost him in the latter. And I couldn't help but be sad because she's talking about the glimpse of the big circle, and it was so beautiful. I think of so many times Dixie should have been nominated, and she never was. Ok I jumped off track...
I love the episode where she and Mary Jo get trapped underneath the horny anchorman's bed, as well as Mamed from the sixth season where she becomes a tyrant during Mame. I thought it was funny in "Of Human Bondage" where she gets drunk and sings "The Wanderer" and "Payne Grows Up" where she sings "Sweet Georgia Brown." Too many favorite moments. I'll have to come back to that later... |

How bout when she told off Imogene, the woman who thought AIDS was a punishment from God.
Imogene: I'm just saying these people are getting what they deserve! Julia: IMOGENE get serious, who do you think you're talking to? I've known you for 27 years and all I can say is, if God was giving out sexually transmitted diseases to people as a punishment for sinning, then you would be at the free clinic ALL THE TIME! One of Julia's greatest 'fired up' moments! |

Does anyone remember an episode where all the girls and Anthony were out of town??? She ended up having to share a bed or room with Anthony. She opened the window and screamed out "This is Julia Sugarbaker. I am going to be sleeping with Anthony B and he is black". I wish I knew exactly what she said.

Without a doubt, my favorite "Julia Moment" was when she sang "How Great Thou Art," at the very moment Charlene began to loser her own faith in the woefully provincial minister she called her own. When Julia hits that high note...nothing like it.

I think my favorite is when she went to the bookstore and asked for 'literature', but the guy had no idea what she was talking about (but he knew they sold Garfield cats). The ep was classic - and great to see the character return working at the studio for one episode. He was a hunky actor - whatever happened to him?

definately her yelling at the jury in "Miss Trial."
Julia: "...mark your ballots. And if you don't mark them right, I am going to rip that fire extinguiser off the wall, and BLOW your overfed, underread, simple-minded BUTTS out onto the Fairprice Motel Parking Lot!" Julia's Roommate: "I don't think jurors are supposed to threaten each other! I don't appreciate that." Julia: "Oh, REALLY? Well I don't appreciate you leavin' your big ol' box of June Allison bladder pads on MY nightstand for all maids and bellboys to see! Of course, YOU don't care if you never get out of here, you don't even have to get up to go to the bathroom!!!" LMAO

I like the Night The Lights went out in Georgia speech, her getting her head stuck in the stair case, the whorehouse comment (funny Dixie and Mary Ann sharing a scene since they played Maggie on Diffrent Strokes) and the time she protested against the book store posting those offensive ads by driving through the posters with her car on multiple occasions and nearly gets sued.
