Default When was the FIRST time you ever saw the black and white episodes of "Bewitched"?

Was it 1)On the original ABC-TV network run,2)A local Station?3)Or on cable stations Hallmark or TVLand? For me,it was on a local station.in the late 1970's-early 1980's.The station had just finished running the Dick Sargent as Darrin episodes, and at that time,Screen Gems/Columbia Pictures TV had begun to air the far superior black and white Dick York as Darrin episodes. When did the rest of you begin to see the black and white episodes for the first time?

I saw some of them during the original prime time run of Bewitched on ABC & later in daytime repeats.

But most of them i saw for the first time on N@N in 1994 when Bewitched returned to their schedule in Glorious Black & White that June.

For the next several weeks i was awed by seeing about 60 Brand New to me Bewitched episodes from the first two seasons, Man talk about a Blast.

I never saw them until Nick@Nite, first started showing them, I think in the '80's. Thats also when I saw My 3 Sons, the "Bub" years for the first time.

In 1976 a local UHF channel ran 2 episodes of the show back-to-back late afternoons. I remember seeing the pilot episode for the first time then.

By 1978, this same channel had divided the series. They only ran color episodes Mon-Fri and two B&W episodes aired Sat and Sun at 7-8 pm.

After 1978 I never saw another B&W ep until I saw the Bewitched Christmas VHS tape in the store in 1993 and bought it. I didn't get Nick@Nite until Sept. 1995 when I got satellite TV.

N@N showed the black and white episodes of "Bewitched" from September 1989 until January 1991, then again from June,1994 till about 1999 as i recall.

As a little kid, when the reruns were shown on one of our local stations. I wasn't around when the show was on the first time.

I saw them on Nick at Nite and was quite surprised because I had only seen the color episodes on TBS.

I remember seeing them for the first time in 1990 I think. I had been watching the color episodes literally all my life -- more than 20 years. Same thing for My Three Sons as far as b-w vs. color. I also saw Donna Reed and The Patty Duke Show for the first time that year.

The things that struck me: How different Elizabeth looked, the totally different Gladys Kravitz, and the sublime Irene Vernon as Louise. Probably the episodes that stayed with me the most, apart from the pilot, were:

1. The first appearance of Serena when Tabitha is born. Hilarious!
2. Parley Baer, the Leprechaun, and the old fireplace. Creepy!
3. Paul Lynde as the driving instructor. Strange!

Same here and that was when I was in high school. I was blown away by the fact that this show had some black and white episodes.

It was also during this time that i noticed what a hottie Liz Montgomery was.

I havent been the same since.

well-the first time was back in the 60s (1968 I think) when ABC started rerunning it on weekday mornings (and later, they started to also rerun it on saturday mornings; but only for a short time) but it wasn't until YEARS later when nick at nite started showing it that I found out that there were black-and-white episodes because in the 60s we had a black-and-white TV (as I'm sure most people did back then).
I used to watch it on a couple local stations in the 70s; but they only showed the color ones.

First time was on CFTO Channel 9 in Toronto in the late '60s. They reran "Bewitched" every evening at 6 PM from 1968 until about '72. The black and white episodes were part of the regular rotation - but all of them were black and white to me because we didn't get a color set until 1973!

In '73 it moved to CHCH Channel 11 Hamilton and the black and whites were also part of the rotation, until about 1975 when they just showed the color episodes after that.

In '76 Channel 29 from Buffalo picked the show up, played two episodes back to back and also included the black and white shows. I remember the airings from Ch. 29 better because I was older then and hadn't seen most of the black and whites for a while. They kept them in regular rotation until they dropped the show around 1980. When they picked it up again in '85, it was just the color shows.

Prime (a Canadian cable channel) aired season 2 black and white shows in the late '90s - this was before colorization.
