Default Except for

From the early -mid 1960's,"Seven Keys",ABC's continuation of "The Price is Right"(the original with the late Bill Cullen that ran on ABC from 1963-1965 when NBC cancelled it),"Seven Keys","Let's Make A Deal","The Dating Game",and "The Newlywed Game",and from the 1970's their version of "Password"(which included the horrible "Password All-Stars",-thankfully it reverted back to the original celebrity -contestant format at the end of the ABC run,but it was too late),"Split Second","The $20,000 Pyramid",and,of course,"Family Feud",ABC has had no luck with game shows-Remember these ABC duds? From the 1960's-"How's Your Mother-in-law?"(yes,there WAS a show called that),"Funny You Should Ask","Get the Message"."The Rebus Game"(from 1965),from the 1970's "The Hot Seat",the very promising "The Big Showdown","Money Maze""Blankety Blanks"(hosted by the late Bill Cullen),"Second Chance"(sort of a predecessor to CBS'hit "Press Your Luck",),"The Neighbors"(hosted by Regis Philbin, this is 100%true,I am NOT making this up),the crappy revival of "You Don't Say-hosted by Tom Kennedy, who hosted "Split Second"and the much better NBC version of "You Don't Say! in the 1960's,in the 1980's "Double Talk","All-Star Blitz","Hot Streak",and "Bargain Hunters",and 1990's version of "The Match Game"(with Ross Schaefer.)

As for NBC,they, with the exceptions of "Three on a Match"(hosted by the late Bill Cullen, and with Don Pardo(and sometimes Wayne Howell )as announcer, ran from 1971-1974,and was very good),"Wheel of Fortune","High Rollers","Celebrity Sweepstakes",and "Password Plus",was unable to capitalize the success they had with game shows in the 1960's.Anyone remember these NBC 1970's duds?"Joe Garagiola's Memory Game","Winning Streak"(hosted by Bill Cullen and with Don Pardo as announcer-a predecessor-kind of-to NBC's 1980's hit "Scrabble"-and was very promising until they changed format ),"All Star Secrets","Mindreaders","To Say the Least",}"Knockout"and "The Fun Factory"(with the late Bobby Van)? But in the 1980's,with the exception of the regrettably short-lived and promising 1980's network version of "Chain Reaction"(with the late Bill Cullen as host and Johnny Gilbert as announcer),"Just Men"(hosted by Betty White),"Go!"(with someone named Kevin 0'Donnell as host),the very complicated "Hit Man",and "Your Number's Up"(hosted by the late Nipsey Russell.all of which were flops-Anyone remember these?)NBC recaptured somewhat the glory days of the 1960's with successes "Scrabble","Block Busters"-the version with the late Bill Cullen was better than the short-lived Bill Rafferty version)the successful remake of "Sale of the Century","Wheel of Fortune",and "Super Password".In the 1990's,however,NBC for some reason gave up on game shows-the remake of "Scrabble"and "Scattergories"were both bombs.Anyone remember these last two or any of these?

Oops!I meant Kevin 0'Connell(not 0'Donnell)And as for CBS,except for "The Joker's Wild","Match Game",Gambit","The $10,000 Pyramid"(which was a hit for CBS sort of,then a big hit for ABC,but came back in the 1980's as "The $25,000 Pyramid",an even bigger hit for CBS),"Tattletales",and of course "The Price is Right",CBS also has NOT had success with its game shows in the 1970's or 1980's.Remember these CBS 1970's duds?"The Amateurs'Guide to Love","Hollywood's Talking","Spin-off","Give-N-Take","Double Dare"(with host Alex Trebek)"Pass the Buck"(hosted by the late Bill Cullen),"Now You See It"(the original was a better-than-average show hosted by the late Jack Narz)and these 1980's duds for CBS-"Blackout","Child's Play"(hosted by the late Bill Cullen),and the very short-lived remake of "Now You See It".In the 1980's,CBS recaptured somewhat its hit years of the 1960's with successes the revival of "Card Sharks" , "The $25,000 Pyramid"

And of course, these 1980's additional CBS hits which I forgot to mention,"Press Your Luck" and the still-running "The Price is Right".In the 1990's,they all three (NBC,CBS,ABC)except for the short-lived revivals of "Scrabble"(NBC) and "Match Game"(ABC)and the flop "Scattergories, gave up on game shows.Pity.
