Wow - I watched this on N@N tonight, and it sure was different from the version they showed during the marathon, when all the episodes were unedited. Tons of lines were missing during the scene with Diane and Sumner in the pool room (particularly the lines about Diane holding the 8-ball and how she and Sam "walked arm-in-arm to his level."), and during the future scene with Sam and Diane. Worst of all, the final scene, where an older Sam and Diane dance to "What'll I Do" in the fading light of their living room, was cut short, too. They didn't even get to start dancing before the light faded and the credits came up. That's one of the most poignant moments in the show's history, and what N@N did to it was a travesty. I'd love to hear what the Charles brothers and James Burrows, the show's creators, think about this.

*sigh*
Nick at Nite strikes again. I really don't care for the show after Diane left, so luckily I won't need to subject myself to anymore hack editing jobs this run. Yeah, it sucks, but frankly, it doesn't shock me anymore. N@N ruins all their shows. If they need to cut stuff out, there are better parts that can be cut down rather than great dialogue. |

I wonder if that version of "I do, Adieu" was the syndication version. Time compression and missing lines. Yep, it's a syndie.

N@N's version was even more cut up than the broadcast syndication version, which didn't cut short the final scene.

This version had more in it than a syndicated one I saw. I still thought it was good.

LOL I noticed it too! It seemed WAY worse for me cuz I've only seen it on the home video, where it is the full , unedited version.
but i'm guessing it was WAY worse than a syndicated version Doug |
