If you're seeking that fourth Klingon Encounter ride chair you need to fill out your set, Saturday is indeed your lucky day.
Unneeded, unwanted and/or unnecessary items and effects from the old "Star Trek Experience" at the Las Vegas Hilton are being put up for sale from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at a storage facility on 66 Spectrum Blvd., Las Vegas, 89101. A hat-tip for the first report of this from my colleague Anthony Pascale of TrekMovie.com, the Mr. Spock of Trek-tracking Web masters. You might remember, or not, a reference to this impending sale back in February, when CBS officials were claiming they still were committed to opening a version of the attraction at (drum roll) Neonopolis (cymbals crash!). Those plans still are going forward, in the sense that they have not been formally re-charted. But whatever happens with the new Trekker paradise, not every item among the stuff lugged out of the LV Hilton in September 2008 will be needed at Star Trek Experience 2.0. So it's time for a garage sale. What is tagged and must move includes chairs, stools and tables from the city's greatest outer-galaxy tavern, Quarks. Also being made available are segments of bridges, the transporter room and halls from the replica Enterprise, and seats from the Klingon Encounter ride. Prices are set between $50 and $500. The company Propworx, which specializes in selling assets of movie and film productions, is handling the sale, and be forewarned that Romulan currency is not accepted as legal tender... http://www.lasvegassun.com/blogs/kat...s-your-own-ho/ |
