Default Nick at Nite Request: "Bachelor Father"

Dear Nick at Nite Viewer Services,

I have a proposal for Nick at Nite: in memory of John Forsythe, Nick at Nite shall make a deal with NBC Universal Television Distribution for Nick at Nite to have exclusivity in airing reruns of the hit 1957-1962 sitcom "Bachelor Father," which Forsythe created.

Forsythe cast himself as Bentley Gregg, a wealthy confirmed bachelor living in Bel-Air, California who suddenly became the legal guardian for his orphaned teenage niece, Kelly (played by Noreen Corocoran).

Tentatively, Nick at Nite shall welcome "Bachelor Father" to its regular schedule starting Monday, January 3, 2011 with a week-long marathon titled "Nick at Nite Meets Bachelor Fathers," a salute to single dads everywhere, along with 40 episodes (10 per night from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. ET/PT).

After the marathon, Nick at Nite shall welcome "Bachelor Father" to its regular schedule by airing weeknights back-to-back at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

Sincerely,
Grundoon Katt

in the late 80s/early 90s, they might have done that, but today they wouldn't even consider it.

They wouldn't even give this a second look with the way that times have changed especially with new "modern" programming. TV Land could give it a slight chance but those chances are somewhat slim.

Excatly Nick at Nite has long souled out (note the spelling it is intentional). They only show this modern day jive. TVLand probably wouldnt show Bachelor Father either. The only hope is TV on DVD. As far as I know this show is not on DVD yet, I could be wrong though.

They might add Bachelor Father but it would be some sort of dating show. lol The days of classic tv on N@N and TV Land are long gone.

The only stations playing BF are some RTV (RTN) stations, but not all of them. I was told by my local RTV, that they won't air it because management feels too much black and white TV drives away the younger demographic.

I think these young hooligans who can't stand black and white TV shows should be sat down in chairs and shown episodes of one classic black and white show after another until they come to their senses and realize that "old school TV rocks!" Maybe that would convert them.

BTW, the management at my RTV must have changed their mind, because BF plays every weekday at 9am! Most days I have to miss it though due to my work schedule.
