Cool Check Out The Contents of the 100th Ep. Press Kit

"Bones" ' 100th Episode - Press Kits Unwrapped
Posted Mar 31st 2010
by Isabelle Carreau

FOX's top crime drama, "Bones", has grown a lot over the years, gathering more and more fans along the way as well as treating us with great episodes and compelling characters each week.

Now that I've watched episodes 99 and 100 of the series -- both will air in early April -- I can't imagine why I actually didn't enjoy the pilot at all when I previewed it the summer before the series aired.

I'm extremely happy in retrospect that I gave the pilot a second chance and tuned in when the series premiered back on September 13, 2005, as it is one of my favorite TV series nowadays.

In order to advertise the milestone episodes that are episodes 99 and 100, FOX sent out a press kit to media types like us. Let's open the box shall we?

The press kit comes with the usual letter from the network, a DVD, and a cool gift -- this time an Erlenmeyer flask (also named a conical or an E-Spot).

The DVD may be the core of the press kit, but the most interesting item is the Erlenmeyer on which is inscribed "BONES 100 EPISODES FOX." The backside of it is graduated as any Erlenmeyer is.

I haven't counted every mint contained in the flask but it wouldn't surprise me if there are exactly a hundred of them. If that total is accurate, then my flask now contains 99 mints.

I had to taste at least one to see if there was any special about them. Sadly, they are tiny typical mints.

Even if the mints don't have the shape of bones, they are remind me of them because the FOX people made sure that the flask would only contain white mints.

I'm undecided as to if I'll eat all the mints or not. They give the flask a cool look and an empty flash would not be as flashy near my TV. Maybe eat the mints when I have something like tiny toy bones to put in the flash instead?

Sending an Erlenmeyer with the DVD was a nifty idea from FOX. Not only does it fit with the show since our favorite squints have to use such flasks from time to time, but it's also the type of item that households rarely have so it adds to the uniqueness of the item.
