Thanks for the info, It is unbelievable that it could fold considering all the hits it had. MTM Enterprises was such a POWERHOUSE in TV!

I think its quite common for small business after having a successful run,selling up to a larger company.

Grant Tinker tried to launch another company later on but it didn't work out.

MTM didn't fold or dissolve, it was sold. And I'm sure Grant Tinker and Mary Tyler Moore made a pretty penny on that sale.

MTM produced Christy, the short-lived 1994-95 CBS drama that I loved so much as a teen. That's the last thing I remember MTM producing before Moore and Tinker sold the company.

I think Moore and Tinker actually sold the company in 1990, and the company that bought it continued to operate it as a separate entity, still under the name MTM Enterprises, until it was later resold to 20th Century Fox in the late '90s.

You're right. MTM Enterprises was owned and being operated by Pat Robertson's International Family Entertainment at the time Christy was produced.
