Forrest Whitaker spinoff of "Criminal Minds" is Getting A Backdoor Pilot April 7th
"Criminal Minds" fans could be getting more crime-stopping action, as CBS plots out a back-door pilot for a spinoff of the five-season old show, the New York Post reports.
The Forrest Whitaker spinoff of "Criminal Minds" -- a back door pilot much like last season's "NCIS: Los Angeles" -- will hit the airwaves during the April 7th episode of the hit CBS series. Whitaker will play a long-time FBI agent, Sam Cooper, who's called in to help with a San Francisco serial murder case. Cooper's character is complicated, having walked away from the job for eight years without explanation.
