Question Have you ever changed your taste for a food?

It's happening to me a lot these days. I always liked barbecue sauce, and now I hate it so much that I can't eat it at all. The same goes for hot dogs. I was never wild over those, but now the sight of them makes me sick. Lately, even Chinese food has lost its appeal, and that bothers me because that's an easy take-out, and saves me from cooking dinner. We went out for Chinese food the the other day, and all I did was move the food around on my plate like a little kid.

There are more foods, but you get the picture. I have no clue why this is happening. I'm thinking that maybe it's certain medication that I'm taking? My husband just says, Oh no Janice, not another food. LOL

Maybe it is a side effect of your meds. Have you lost your appetite completely, or is it just lots of foods that just don't appeal to you? Maybe you should call your doctor and explain. Back to the subject of foods: on the flip side, as a kid I couldn't stand pumpkin pie. Now I LOVE it - especially with lots of whipped cream.

Sorry to hear this Janice, I'd see what your doctor's take is.

But, are there still many foods you can take? Let me know & hoping this all works out.

I sure hope it isn't your meds Janice.

Probably the biggest food I no longer like is Sloppy Joes. They used to be one of my favorites too. There was a time I lost my taste for speghetti. That was always a favorite of mine when I was a kid. I quit eating it for about 10 years though. I eat it every once in awhile now so I got the taste back although I don't have it as much as I used to. Ketchup is another thing I used to always use. I use to load my french fries with it all the time. I just stopped using it one day. I don't know why but I have no need to have it any more. I probably haven't had any in 30 years.

Could well be some of the meds Janice. I had it happen to me the past couple of years.

And oddly, stuff I used to gag just thinking about, I crave now - like spinach and especially asparaghus. I used to love a good steak or prime rib, but now I can only had beef in very small amounts and it has to be cooked well. I used to try to get my steaks rarer (because supposedly it was better for you and was more tender). At one point I went right off the stuff for years because it felt like I was eating raw flesh. Gross!

There's other stuff like you, I'll tire of for periods of time.
