...in her book about her stint on "THE ENTERTAINERS", a 1964-'65 CBS New York-based variety show (co-produced by Bob Banner [who previously produced "THE GARRY MOORE SHOW", of whch Carol had been on a regular from 1959 through '62] and her then husband Joe Hamilton) in which she alternated with Bob Newhart and Caterina Valente as hosts? By January 1965, Newhart was gone, and she and Caterina co-hosted the last three months of the show. "THE ENTERTAINERS"' format was somewhat similar to her later variety show, but she's never discusses the series publicly- probably because she didn't consider it "her show"....I've seen one kinescope {from the original videotape} of it, with Boris Karloff and Chita Rivera as guest stars, from January 1965, and it was quite good. John Davidson, Dom DeLuise and Ruth Buzzi were among the supporting cast as well.....still, Carol should have SOME comment about it, because that was an important step towards hosting her own variety show in the fall of 1967.

Hi TV Knowledge Fan,
Someone on the "Bewitched" message board speaks of Carol mentioning Elizabeth Montgomery when they did Password. I also know they did the movie "Who's Been Sleeping In My Bed?" with Dean Martin as well. In any case, I was wondering if she mentions Barbara Eden. Though I unfortunately have never seen the episode, I know Barbara Eden was a guest on the first season of "The Carol Burnett Show" in 1967. This brings up another question - do you know WHY the first several seasons of "The Carol Burnett Show" have never been syndicated OR released on DVD???? Thanks
