As previously predicted here, CBS will try swapping "CSI" and "The Mentalist" on a Thursday night.

The network is doing a one-time flip on April 1st, putting "Mentalist" into the keystone 9 p.m. slot against ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" and NBC's "The Office," while "CSI" will air at 10 p.m. vs. ABC's "Private Practice" and NBC's "Marriage Ref."

The move has been an increasingly obvious play to make as "Mentalist" ratings have frequently edged out "CSI," with the latter slipping dramatically during the past couple years. Networks typically put their strongest shows at 9 p.m. Even if CBS' Thursday night performance improves during the test, the network wouldn't likely make any permanent changes before next fall.

i've pretty much given up on the original CSI

I wish they would stop moving the Mentalist around. If this move becomes permanent, it will be their 3rd different timeslot in 3 years.
