Question Question About A Potential Six Million Dollar Man Spinoff...Was this a Dream???

I know that the Six Million Dollar Man Spawned the Bionic Woman, but I vaguely remember that there was another spinoff about a dog (A german sheppard) that became The Bionic Dog. Was this a childhood dream or was there really a dog spunoff as well?

From The Bionic Woman:

Season 3, Episode 1: The Bionic Dog
Original Air Date—10 September 1977
Jaime learns that a bionic prototype was applied to a German Sheppard six years earlier. Every defect that Steve Austin and Jaime Sommers have suffered from over the years, Maxamillion (who's bionics cost a million dollars) suffered from first. Now Max is acting lifeless and depressed and Rudy Wells is planning to put the dog down. So, Jaime takes it upon herself to prove Max still has the will to live

So it was a sidekick to the Bionic woman & not a spinoff?

Correct, Do you remember these?

From The Six Million Dollar Man:

Season 2, Episode 5: The Seven Million Dollar Man
Original Air Date—1 November 1974
Steve Austin is surprised to learn that Oscar and Rudy have made a second cyborg out of former racing driver Barney Miller, who has had all four of his limbs replaced with bionics. When asked to accompany Barney on his first O.S.I. mission, Austin realizes Miller has a tendency to misuse his new found powers. On top of that, Barney is having considerable trouble adjusting to being part machine.

Season 4, Episode 7: The Bionic Boy
Original Air Date—7 November 1976
In special two-hour show of "The Six Million Dollar Man", Andy Shefield has been injured in a landslide that also killed his controversial father. OSI chooses the youth to receive atomic/bionic implants that will restore his paralyzed legs. The result is superhuman strength in those legs. Andy immediately uses this new power to do what he can to restore the good name of his father. Once he gets in over his head, Colonel Steve Austin comes to his aid.

I remember talk about a possible "Bionic Dog" series, so if you were dreaming it must have been a shared dream.

I remember that Bionic Boy episode. I always thought that was supposed to be a spin-off show.

Cool

Maximillion, a dog. A canine barely alive.
Gentlemen, we can rebuild him.
We have the technology.
We can build the world's first bionic dog.
Better than he was before.
Better. Faster. Stronger.

What I never understood was why ABC canceled the Bionic Woman when it was still in the top 20. Luckily NBC picked it up for one last year.

There have been many questionable decisions made by TV executives over the years. I have long since stopped trying to understand it.

I think most of the members here can program a network better than those executives do.
