Gilligan really doesn't have a last name or a first name, his name is just Gilligan and that's what everyone calls him but one year Bob Denver (Gilligan) went on a talkshow and the talk show host asked him what's Gilligan's full name or something and he said that if it was used in the show it would be Willy Gilligan. So his name really is Willy if it was used on the show but everyone calls him Gilligan.
