Default Do You Know How To Eat With Chopsticks?

I taught myself years ago. Being that I like Asian food, Japanese in particular, I wanted to learn how to eat with them.

Do you know how to use them?

I've tried...I'm too uncoordinated to use chopsticks.

Cool

Using chopsticks is one of many skills in life I have not mastered. Fortunately I have mastered eating with a fork!

Is there some sort of rule that all characters on a tv series have to use chopsticks when eating asian food? What the heck is wrong with using a fork? I tried using chopsticks once but couldn't get the hang of it and they're really only good for one thing anyway.

Nope, and I've also noticed that everyone in movies and tv use chopsticks when eating Asian food. I've never seen it another way.

No clue here. But since I don't really care for Asian food it's not a big deal.

This makes me think of a M*A*S*H episode called The Chosen People, where Captain Pak(Pat Morita) visits the camp.

At one point in the episode, Captain Pak, Henry and Father Mulcahy are eating some sort of Korean food. Both Henry and Father Mulcahy are using chopsticks, while Captain Pak is using a fork

i like eating with chopsticks, and if you hollow out the one on the left you can use it as a straw!

Yes, I have mastered the art of using chopsticks. Actually, when I am dining at an Asian restaurant, I always request chopsticks instead of utensils

Yeah, I have noticed that myself.

Perhaps it's to emphasize that it's Asian food that they are eating and not something like mac n' cheese in a take-out container.

By the way, when I order Chinese Take-Out they do not bring you chopsticks. Most of the time the Japanese and Vietnamese do but not the Chinese around here.
