Confused What's With The "Editing" Differences?!

If this topic has been brought up before, I humbly apologise.

I was just curious if anyone knows why Season One is edited and Season Two is not?! That doesn't make sense to me. And also seeing how Season One is a "35th Anniversary Edition"?!

I would love to see it re-released being unedited. Or in a complete box set some day. That would be cool. *smiles*

Thanks!

I saw a discussion a few months ago on TVShowsonDVD.com, or some similar website, where people were complaining about all the edits in Season One. Someone from Shout! who was actually involved in the Rhoda DVDs replied that their concerns were being taken into account and they would ensure Season Two was unedited. So the only reason Season Two got released unedited is because there had been so many complaints about the quality of Season One. If it hadn't been for all the complaining, there probably would have been a sloppy, edited Season Two as well. Sometimes it pays to complain.

Season one of Rhoda was a disaster,DVD wise,I did buy it,knowing there was edited episodes but was horrfied but how bad the edits were.
Shout came up with bull that "they looked high and low for complete" episodes,I had Mary Tyler Moore's guest appearance from the pilot(cut out on the DVD)taped from cable in the 90s and to prove my point,I understand the recent screenings of Rhoda in the US,screened the Mary Tyler Moore scene from the pilot.
I luckily had about three quarters of season one, taped from cable, years ago,its when you compare an unedited episode to one of the edited episodes on the DVD,you see how bad they are.
"Whattya Think Its There For?" is really one of the worst for cuts, the beginning of Rhoda and Brenda entering Brenda's is cut,the Cara Williams character is totally cut out from the episode and "The Shower" has dialogue between Brenda and Rhoda cut and the scene of Joe and Rhoda talking about looking for a new bed and Joe talking about his first wife's Shower,is all cut too.
I too hope we see season1 released in it enterity too, these Rhoda DVDs are a lot more expensive than The Mary Tyler Moore Show DVDs and I'm glad,so many people complained and Shout are making Rhoda season2 complete and remastered.
I hate laziness and season1 was just old syndicated prints being issued without any care,Rhoda deserved so much better and we fans certainly did too.
Heres Mary Tyler Moore's scene cut from the Rhoda pilot on the DVD setThanks to Justin for putting them on youtube)

Here's the unedited Rhoda pilot credits with Mary Tyler Moore in them:

It's not such thing as RE-RELEASE of a individual season. Your only hope is a season 1 being released again unedited as part of a entire set of all seasons like what happened with the Cosby Show.
