The processed foods on the store shelves probably have more sodium per-serving than any restaurant meal. I have a box of Rice-A-Roni chicken fajita flavor with 3 servings per-box and 1000mg's of sodium each.

Thumbs down

I heard about that, too, on the Neal Boortz show this morning. If they can ban salt (or at least propose it in New York state), why can't they ban Family Guy, Desperate Housewives, and all those shows targeted by common (not special) interest groups like the Parents Television Council? Talk about a double standard!

I can't imagine this nutty idea is gonna fly but you never know. Less salt, however, is a good idea, but I don't see how you can legislate this for sit-down restaurants.

I could see people just being all "F that" and cops acting like they didn't see salt being used.

The Parents Television Council are media Nazis who don't actually help anyone, The people banning salt are trying to better everyones health....that's the difference.

Oh No

I agree with Jeff Nathan on this. I think it should be my food, my choice. I
certainly hope this bill does not pass in the state of New York, because as
he says it is absurd. I also hope that this does not spread to the rest of the
country as well.

Your opinion.
Some may call people expressing their opinion and working to limit the filth that tends to propogate on the media airwaves if unchecked, oh, I don't know... their right!

You don't have children, do you?!

No, they are just trying to tell you what you can eat. Next they'll be telling you when you can eat, what you can think, and when you can go to the bathroom. If you want a nanny to tell you what you can do, and when you can do it, you can have it. I prefer freedom. You know the word, freedom. It's what libs always profess to love. Well, at least if it involves immoral acts or murdering babies. It is a very narrow view of freedom.

Look, I just think they need to lighten up a bit. The people who produce this "filth" also have a right to do so. You don't HAVE to watch it. And maybe if people sat down with their kids and didn't let the tv babysit them then kids wouldn't be so affected by it. And it doesn't go "unchecked" that is why the FCC is around.

You don't want someone telling you what you can and can't eat, I don't want anyone telling me what I can and can't watch on tv. So there.

I do not. I am 18, it'd be weird if I had a child.

Oh, no. Don't you preach to me about Freedom. My father fights everyday for EVERYONE'S freedom. Pulling that guilt trip on me WON'T HELP YOUR CASE. I love this country just as much as you do. If not more.

I don't mean to offend you, but I don't see how going out of your way and picking apart my message helps your case. I still believe what I believe and I still stand by all the things I said. Talking down to me isn't going to make you seem intelligent. And also way to interpret the article for me. I thought that was really classy of you. Thanks because I'm incapable of reading.
