Confused Did the Curse of Superman Strike Brandon Routh???

Brandon Routh

Here’s a virtually unknown actor who was lucky enough to nab a role in a film that any up-and-coming leading man prays to land. So why didn’t Brandon Routh become one of the 21st century’s biggest leading men?

Superman Returns was a pretty big success at the box office back in 2006, but it didn’t really get that much love from die-hard fans of the legendary series. This backlash might be the main reason why Brandon Routh hasn’t found himself in the limelight since the release of this Bryan Singer disaster. One of the things that really makes me scratch my head is the fact that he wasn’t bad at all as the Man of Steel. Even fans all over the internet seem to want him back in the new reboot of the franchise. Can Brandon save his career by returning as Clark Kent? It could happen, but I don’t think he’ll ever be able to shake the universal hatred toward Superman Returns.

Good question - I know I haven't heard much about him lately.

Cool

How do you know it's the curse of Superman and not the curse of Clark Kent?

Smallville's Tom Welling may be faced with that problem, when his series
finally ends its run (although he did get a part in the movie "Cheaper by the
Dozen"). All I have seen Dean Cain in, since Lois & Clark ended, was a
guest shot on Smallville, in which he played the villain.

R.I.P., George Reeves and Christopher Reeve.

Dean Cain has been in tons of TV movies and straight to DVD movies since Lois and Clark went off the air.

he's been doing good on Chuck, and assuming it keeps the ratings it has been getting so far this season it will probably be back.

Not only Clark Kent, but also Lana Lang(Kristen Kreuk from Smallville)has had a recurring role on there as well as a love interest for Chuck.

Chuck's one of the few new shows I watch. Great characters, humor and action.

Even the very first on screen Superman Kirk Alyn didn't find many roles after hanging up his cape.

Brian you can have it both ways. The first sentence calls Superman Returns a pretty big success and the last sentence calls it a disaster.
To me Brandon Routh just seemed like a disposable underwear model.
