With a workload as heavy as his music, you'd be forgiven for thinking that Them Crooked Vultures drummer/Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl was ready to take a break.
As previously reported in Spinner, the band -- whose other members include Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones and Queens Of The Stone Age big cheese Josh Homme -- have confirmed their intention of recording a follow-up to their hugely successful eponymous debut later this year. Now Grohl has announced the return of Foo Fighters, albeit to the studio at least. Speaking to BBC 6 Music, Grohl confirmed that time has been set aside at the end of the summer for Foo Fighters to enter the studio and start work on their seventh album, their first since 2007's 'Echoes, Silence And Grace.' He said, "Foo Fighters have just started writing and we're going to start recording in September so life is full of music." Them Crooked Vultures, meanwhile, are still in full flight. They headline one of Who singer Roger Daltrey's Teenage Cancer Trust gigs at the Royal Albert Hall in London on Mar. 22 before heading to California in April for the Coachella festival and then winding up at the Download festival in the UK in June, appearing with rock behemoths AC/DC. http://www.spinner.com/2010/03/08/th...to-the-studio/ |
