The sitcom called E/R starred Elliott Gould as emergency room doctor Howard Sheinfeld, a recently divorced ear, nose, and throat specialist who moonlights at fictional Clark Street Hospital to keep up with his alimony payments. His colleague Dr. Eve Sheridan was played by Marcia Strassman in the pilot, and by Mary McDonnell in the regular series. The cast also included Conchata Ferrell, Jason Alexander, Lynne Moody, Bruce A. Young (one of the writers of the original play), and George Clooney, who would go on to appear in the similarly titled popular drama ER. The premiere episode also featured Sherman Hemsley as George Jefferson, who was the uncle of Lynne Moody's character, Julie Williams.

Yea I saw that episode when it originally aired. The sitcom wasn't that bad. It had a great theme song too.

I vaguely remember watching the show, I remember a young George Clooney on it and I do remember liking it.

I remember this sitcom as well. There are a number of ironies about this show. Elliot Gould starring as a surgeon on it after playing Trapper in the original MASH movie and George Clooney having a role in it before going on to start in a more well known drama also known as "ER" are two that I can think of.

It was on CBS. One of the cable networks (USA I think) used to play reruns of it. If I can recall correctly George gets shot in the episode.
