MONTICELLO, Iowa -- The classic cars on display at the Monticello Rod and Custom Car Show on Sunday served as the perfect backdrop for former "Happy Days" star Erin Moran. Her star rose playing Joanie Cunningham on the 1970s hit based on 1950s nostalgia.

Moran's career seemingly turned full circle in November when she appeared with Barry Livingston, formerly Ernie on "My Three Sons," during an episode of "The Bold and the Beautiful."

"I did 'My Three Sons' when I was 8, and now Barry's playing my husband in 'Bold and Beautiful,'" Moran said. "It was wonderful."

The former child stars played Mike and Kelly DeMartin, a married couple the Logans knew from their old neighborhood.

Moran said she is in the process of writing an autobiography, which includes a healthy dose of "Happy Days."

"That's my life," Moran said. "I'm very blessed."

Rhonda Sanders, of Solon, Iowa, made the trip north to get some memorabilia signed by Moran.

"It was very interesting to see Erin, but my favorite character was the Fonz," Sanders said. "There's no special episode that I like most. I love every one."

throughout the year, and it's the second time she has been in Monticello.

This year's visit went more smoothly than the first, when her luggage didn't arrive at the airport.

"I wore the same clothes all weekend," Moran said. "I love doing it. The people are lovely."

Also appearing were retired NASCAR star Dave Marcis and Jean Davidson, the granddaughter of Harley-Davidson founder Walter Davidson.

Marcis, a Wausau, Wis., native, made his Winston Cup debut at Daytona in 1968 after making a name for himself on Wisconsin dirt tracks.

"I was quite successful in Wisconsin and ran a lot of state fairs and county fairs," Marcis said. "I wanted to race for a living, so I decided to go down and try NASCAR. And 35 years later, I retired."
