Default This song makes me think of freddie

Toby Keith "cryin for me." In this song his friend passed away on a friday and he has to deal with the loss. Freddie shot himself on a friday and was taken off life support on saturday. It makes think about freddie everytime it comes on the radio. It would be a perfect tribute song to the legendary comic.

Wow...sounds like it would be something reminscent of Freddie's tragic end. I haven't listened to country for years (since acquiring teenagers LOL), so not familiar with this one.

I think we might have done this before, but this would be a good place to start again, a thread re songs that remind us. My biggest one has always been "To Where You Are" by Josh Groban. I first heard it--and therefore first discovered the marvelous Josh--as featured on Suzanne's site, I believe. Just perfect as a tribute to Freddie!

Another Josh Groban song is called Awake that reminds me of Freddie. I have it now featured. I had it there once before and have brought it back again with a new photo.

I believe the song that Mariposa was talking about, is one my favorite Josh Groban songs. It is featured in wheeone's site. They are both wonderful songs, Josh sings them beautifully

Allthough many, My Favorite Song about Freddie:
"I'll Be Seeing You" by: Various Artists

I'll be seeing you;
In all the old, familiar places;
That this heart of mine embraces;
All day through.

In that small cafe;
The park across the way;
The children's carousel;
The chestnut tree;
The wishing well.

I'll be seeing you;
In every lovely, summer's day;
And everything that's bright and gay;
I'll always think of you that way;
I'll find you in the morning sun;
And when the night is new;
I'll be looking at the moon;
But I'll be seeing you.

Favorite Poem as well:

The Disappointed
by Ella Wheeler Wilcox

There are songs enough for the hero
Who dwells on the heights of fame;
I sing of the disappointed--
For those who have missed their aim.

I sing with a tearful cadence
For one who stands in the dark,
And knows that his last, best arrow
Has bounded back from the mark.

I sing for the breathless runner,
The eager, anxious soul,
Who falls with his strength exhausted.
Almost in sight of the goal;

For the hearts that break in silence,
With a sorrow all unknown,
For those who need companions,
Yet walk their ways alone.

There are songs enough for the lovers
Who share love's tender pain,
I sing for the one whose passion
Is given all in vain.

For those whose spirit comrades
Have missed them on their way,
I sing, with a heart o'erflowing,
This minor strain to-day.

And I know the Solar system
Must somewhere keep in space
A prize for that spent runner
Who barely lost the race.

For the plan would be imperfect
Unless it held some sphere
That paid for the toil and talent
And love that are wasted here.

{Note: I would say the sphere held for Freddie are His family, children, grandchildren, fans, tribute sites/pages, memories, love and prayers sent His way. I hope He's found the peace that eluded Him so badly in the end. I would have loved Him if He truley was a mechanic who lived in a van. He was and was worth so much more than what He got.}
