LOS ANGELES — Miley Cyrus, Zac Efron and "Twilight" co-stars Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner have joined the lineup at the Academy Awards.
Oscar organizers announced Monday that "Hannah Montana" star Cyrus, "High School Musical" co-star Efron and Stewart and Lautner will be presenters at the awards show March 7. They are four of Hollywood's biggest rising stars, bringing some youth appeal to the Oscars, whose overseers are trying to boost the show's TV ratings. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences previously announced that Sean Penn, Kate Winslet and Penelope Cruz, who won acting Oscars a year ago, will present honors this time around. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/0..._n_472075.html |

I think she was last year, too. Usually those type of people don't get to present anything big. Sometimes they are even the presenter of a presenter, lol.

...with the fact that the Academy Awards ceremonies are telecast on ABC, which happens to be a part of ABC/Disney, who also has Miley under contract to appear as "HANNAH MONTANA", and that this is probably their last chance to "milk" her celebrity status for all she's worth [to them] while her series is still on the air....would it?

the stars of the 40s-80s had more talent than the likes of taylor lautner, miley etc put together. let's face it, problem with today's showbiz world, is that it caters to kids more than us elder folk.

Not surprising at all. Various changes are being made to this year's award show to appeal to the younger crowd.
Personally I lost interest in the Oscars years ago. |
