New Information from Sherman Hemsley Interview on Youtube which is 3 parts - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

With all three parts it's about 67 mins long. Here are some interesting things that was in the interview

1. Sherman Hemsley was embarassed after seeing the footage for the first time of him walking out of the cab in the opening credits because of the way he walking.

2. Sherman stated that Zara Cully(Mother Jefferson) hated the insulting the Louise character and would say to Isabel-"I have to insult you again"

3. Sherman said he was so THIN the first couple of episodes because because right before the show started he was on a 30 day fast diet

4. His favorite episode was Piano Man

5. CBS received angry letters after the episode of the dog jumping over the balcony.

6. He didn't like the Martin Luther King episode because he had to wear that PATCH of hair on top of head

Interesting...LOL! Mother Jefferson was a riot! Leave it up to some people to get angry over a TV Show with the dog jumping over the balcony. I'm sure the dog was fine...somehow I just don't see them killing a dog to get laughs. I find it hard to believe that people didn't realize that #1 it wasn't a real drop and #2 if there was any kind of drop at all I'm sure there was a safety net or something. Geez....some people.
