No offense to any Marsha Warfield fans, but I feel she was too unfunny for my liking. BTW, I think Selma was the best!

To me Florence Kleiner played by Florence Halop was the least funny of the female Baliffs.

Selma and Florence were great, but they were one-note characters (maybe two notes, if you count "old" and "crotchety" as separate characteristics). Bull was more well-rounded as a character, but wasn't the creative equal of the other characters on the show. Roz was funny (so were the others) but Marsha Warfield could bring out better performances from the other performers, especially John Larroquette. |

I liked Roz the best of all of them but probably because I didn't really start watching Night Court every week until Season 4. I liked what I saw of Selma though on the dvd's. I just wish they had done more with her character. I loved her line in the hospital where she says "Fine! I'll be sitting in the street." when the doctor tells her she can't smoke in the hallway or in the lounge, LOL! Sometimes a show can have too many characters. I think Night Court was one of those shows at times as was Barney Miller. When you have a lot of cast members it can be difficult not to kind of neglect one of them to just a few lines per show. Just my opinion though.

I liked them all, but for some reason Florence made me laugh the most (even though her character wasn't as developed). Something about her voice and the one-liners together was a riot. Roz was ok, she filled the void with some nice sarcasm. Selma probably had the best developed character (for the short time she was on the show). JMO

I liked Selma the best too. Roz was pretty funny but a different kind of funny.

Roz was awesome. They needed a tough girl character to balance out Christine's prudish ultra femininity.
I've been watching the 1990-1992 episodes, something I rarely do because those episodes are of lower quality. I noticed that all of a sudden Dan and Harry had softened entirely too much and suddenly Roz, Christine and the other two (The weird steno and Bull's wife) from season 9 had taken over the strong roles. I also liked seasons 1 and 2 when Selma was around. Some of the best gags involved her long-winded stories in which all the other characters would slowly leave as she told it. |

Ha ha! The more I watch Night Court the more I like Roz. My favorite of her episodes is the one where she teaches Dan to dance.
