TV FOX Cancels "Past Life" (Again)

Fox Cancels Past Life
February 19, 2010 | By: Andrew Scott

Past Life is officially a thing of the past.

According to the Live Feed, Fox has pulled the plug on the newbie crime drama. In its place: Kitchen Nightmares.

Fox will air three original episodes of the Gordon Ramsay show at 9PM on Thursdays, with Life's remaining episodes scheduled to air later in the season.

Past Life -- which premiered last week -- got off to a dismal start in the ratings; its debut episode averaged about 9 million viewers, a loss of two-thirds from its lead-in, ratings juggernaut American Idol.

Subsequent episodes have performed even worse, with last night's taking in just 3.5 million viewers and a disastrous 1.1 preliminary rating in the adult 18-49 demo, according to TV By the Numbers.

Reviews were just as harsh; the show averaged a score of 43 on Metacritic.com.

From creator David Hudgins, the show starred Kelli Giddish as a detective who solves crimes using a person's reincarnated memories.

...and the Fox executive who gave the "green light" to "PAST LIFE" is currently serving "penance" for his "brilliant programming decision" by working the overnight shift at a 7-Eleven, somewhere in Amarillo, Texas- not too far from the nearby Fox affiliate.

"And he'll remain there until he personally reimburses me for the bonus he received for scheduling that goddamn expensive piece of....!!!!"
-Rupert Murdoch, chairman, News Corp. {Fox's corporate parent}

Fox Cancels "Past Life" (Again)
by Catherine Lawson
posted Jun 9th 2010

For the next two weeks, FOX will be airing reruns of "The Good Guys" on Friday nights in place of "Past Life", according to Variety.

Supernatural detective series "Past Life" was canceled back in February after only three episodes had been aired.

FOX has been showing the remaining episodes on Friday nights, with the last two due to be aired on June 11 and 18. However, execs have now decided to cancel the series (again), replacing it with repeats of "House" and "The Good Guys".
