There is one gas station out in Pasadena, California, that was actually charging this! http://www.pasadenastarnews.com/news/ci_14412669 Adding insult to injury, that station had a sign out (despite the MasterCard and Visa signs in the picture) saying "cash only."

The average price in the Los Angeles area is $2.95 per gallon as of this writing.
