Hey guys,
I have always been wondering something and that is why is there so much hate for Miller-Boyett sitcoms? |

I had to do some Googling to find the shows, but most of those listed (Full House, Happy Days, etc) are pretty popular. Full House would be my favorite on that list, but I've never read about any hatred toward the other ones listed, like Bosom Buddies, Perfect Strangers, Mork and Mindy, etc.

My theory is that most of the hate has something to do Just the Ten of Us getting canceled in 1990

If we are talking about critics, i think the "hate" comes from the fact that many critics see these types of shows as heavily formulaic and rather unoriginal. I think also the fact these shows tend to be slightly sappy and at times preachy tended to rub some people the wrong way. Overall i think most critics see them for what they are mid-level shows aimed at a mass audience, not shows aiming to push the envelope or explore anything all that new. So i think critics tend to dismiss them as meritless and focus their attention on more envelope pushing fare.

Actually, it was Thomas Miller, Edward Milkis, and Garry Marshall who were the producers of 'Happy Days', 'Laverne & Shirley', 'Mork & Mindy'.
The only Miller/Boyett sitcoms of the late 1980's/early 1990's that I liked were 'Full House' and 'The Hogan Family'. I didn't care for the rest of them. |

I was wondering why is are Miller-Milkis shows often labled under the Miller-Boyett banner?
I was also wondering since Thomas L. Miller co-created Nanny and the Professor, and I read somewhere he also co-created Love, American Style and Me and the Chimp, I was just wondering if there are any other shows that Thomas L. Miller might have also co-created in the late sixties and early seventies? |
