Default Lee Selwyn's killer

Anyone know what happened to Franklin LeGrande Perkins? The update only said he plead not guilty at his arraignment, but I can't find any other details on the internet. He's the guy that ran over Lee Selwyn, who was the target of a car chase in LA. He was on his motorcycle when Perkins tried to run over one of his friends who was also on a motorcycle with him, then he became a target and was eventually thrown from his bike after a chase on the streets.

Thanks for posting this as I was just thinking of it and wondering what came about after the arrest.

I came on here to say that in case anyone was wondering, the recent fatal luge accident proves that taking out a pole with one's head is NEVER a good thing--helmet or no helmet.

As of late Nov. 1994, he was about to be sentenced for the murder. But no other articles about it. Unfortunately, since California does not release information about prison inmates, there's no way to know if he is locked up.

Well, it would depend though on whether there were special circumstances? My guess would be he got 25 years to life but who knows?

I hope this guy at least serves his full sentence. I'm from CA and didn't actually realize you couldn't publically access information about prisoners.

Beings that it's a solved case it doesn't get discussed as much, but it's one that upsets me alot. Not just because Lee seemed like such a laid back cool guy (he was very 80s rocker-esque) who wouldn't even pick a fight, but even worse that he wasn't even the one responsible for punching out the guy's truck mirror. Obviously even if he was it would've still been just as horrible of an overreaction just because that idiot couldn't control his temper.

It's alot like the Adam Emery case where he cowardly killed Jason Bass because he thought Jason side swiped his car (and didn't even feel remorse about getting the wrong person).

What a scumbag bully Perkins looked like when they showed footage of his arrest in the UM update, according to the original update bragging about it in jail led to him being caught for Lees killing.

Why do California DOC Website not release any information? I have looked up many offenders and it only just gives a name date of birth and where they are imprisoned. Other states give a full history....

Seeing the uncut version of this case on Amazon Prime, they really, really, REALLY wanted to inform the viewers that not all motorcyclists are evil gang members who are intent on raping and killing you.

It's kind of sad that the producers in 1988 were worried that there would be no sympathy towards a man being murdered simply because he rode a motorcycle.

Yes, that is sad, though to be fair, within the next few months, they'd air the Gus Hoffman segment, which showed bikers at their absolute worst.

I noticed they did the same with the Tom Roche segment.

And in the "Debbie" segment, Stack began it by telling viewers how important it is to not concentrate on the race of the attacker but on the seriousness of the crime.

These are all things that should be known through basic common sense but I guess more people had to be spoon fed these tips 30 years ago.
