Around the end of Season 5, the picture of Jesus that hangs in the Evans' apartment gets moved to a less noticeable place by the bedroom doors and is replaced where it used to be with a rack with objects on it.
I've always found it interesting for several reasons: 1.) The Evans are poor. Would they really have extra money to spend on shelves filled with objects like that? 2.) The Jesus picture was an important part of the set. Not only was it the focus of Episode 2- "Black Jesus", but in many episodes where the characters are facing moral conflicts, the picture will be in the shot right above them or between them. It just kind of seems to be that this change of the set was more of a conscience decision that just a desire to add something new to the set. Was Jesus taken out of the show. I guess really if you look at it, Florida was the only one that was that religious and she was gone in Season 5. With all the fuss she made when Michael put up the black one in Season 1 though, it seems she would have demanded it back to its former spot in Season 6 upon her return! |
