Case Update?

Hey guys, I cannot remember the name of the case but I remember an episode of this man who took this woman out on a date and I believed spent the night with her. She was later murdered and he was charged and convicted of her murder. He claims that he is innocent and was interviewed off an on during the segment. I cannot remember any of the names involved but at the end of the segment, he said something like, " I feel horrible for the family but having an innocent man in prison isn't giving this case closure." Or something to that effect. Does anyone remember this case?

Yes that would Aileen "LuLu" Corsheune. I can't remember the man in prison's name but he was granted a new trial and found not guilty and set free. There was speculation that Lulu's fiance's brother, Russell Healy, might have murdered her but he died of ALS years ago and was never charged. He always denied that he murdered her, even on his deathbed.

That was the Rick McCue case. He was serving a life term for murder but was granted a new trial due to misconduct by a juror. He was acquited by the second jury. If I remember correctly, the victim's body was found in a sandy/muddy area and there were some truck tire tracks found near the body. The prosecution claimed that impressions taken of the tire tracks matched the tires on McCue's truck. However, a juror (or possibly a couple of jurors) went to the crime scene after the fact and did their own comparisons with their own vehicles to see how well they could leave identifiable tracks in the sand/mud. I believe this was the "misconduct" that ultimately led to McCue getting a new trial, and exoneration.

Its gotta be my juvenile sense of humor but I always chuckled at the time line of the love connection between Rick & Lulu. If you look closely at the houseguests’ accounts of when they arrived at Rick’s place to the time they left Rick’s place…well lets just say I’m not too surprised they heard Lulu saying “Slow down”.

Hey guys, I cant remember the name of the case but I believe it was some sort of New England serial killer in the late 70's and 80's. In this segment, there was a woman, whose identity was withheld, who talked about a man who attacked her when she stopped for a soda. She was 7 months pregnant and was stabbed numerous times yet survived. At the end of the segment, there was an update saying this woman believed she knew who it was. They didn't name the person but said he was retired military who killed his entire family in Florida and then himself. Does anyone remember this case and did anyone do any research on retired military men in Florida who killed his family and himself to see if that person matches this case?

From what I've read, it was never solved. The person who is the most likely suspect, is in fact dead, but last I'd checked, the police had never officially declared case closed. There is no physical evidence to tie him to it. There isn't even any real circumstantial evidence to speak of.

Yea, I was just reading up on the supposed suspect, Michael Nicholaou, and there isn't any real evidence against him. I'm not even sure there was only one killer as some of these supposed victims have since been linked to other killers and not the CRVK.

Another unintentionally hilarious UM moment. You'd think self preservation would dictate backing out on a date when the woman's boyfriend calls from the pokey...and his brother is hanging out with her as well.

I know, right? I was thinking, "Ooooooh...poor choice, McCue. You may have a sure thing on your hands but this might be more trouble than its worth." Dude had no idea what he was in for.

Another thing about that whole segment is that it took place in Lowell, Mass. The only other time I'd heard of Lowell was this hilarious HBO documentary called "Doin' Time on Crack Rock". That show was a full hour of pure unadulterated white trash. Apparently Lowell is Cracktown, U.S.A.

Do a search on the most popular streaming video site. There is a great documentary on the case that was produced not that long ago by the E! channel. In it, the pregnant lady is interviewed and I believe she fingered Nicolau as her attacker. Good enough for me.

You're right. She did finger him as her attacker but there has been no link to him as the CRVK. The CRVK killings remain unsolved.
