Movie '60s Stalwart TV Show 'The Big Valley' Headed to the Big Screen

It looks like "The Big Valley" will become a feature film, and an A-list Hollywod actress is in talks to star in the movie, reports The Hollywood Reporter.

Susan Sarandon is in conversations to play the role of family matriarch Victoria Barkley, originally played by Barbara Stanwyck. The Western aired on ABC from 1965-69.

Cool

I'm sorry but I just don't see Susan Sarandon filling Barbara Stanwyck's shoes.

First Gunsmoke, now The Big Valley...I guess Hollywood decided it's not enough to desecrate classic sitcoms, they need to ruin the classic Westerns. I third the Susan Sarandon decision...

Will one of the sons be named after a convicted felon like Susan Sarandon's own son.

I will be sure to miss this.

Don't forget the theatrical versions of Maverick and The Wild Wild West from the 90's.

And really as bad as The Big Valley probably will be, it couldn't be as bad as The Wild Wild West.

I don't think ANYTHING could be as bad as Wild Wild West.

Making a movie out of The Wild Wild West was a bad idea to begin it, and it only got worse when they cast Will Smith in it. I'll be nice and say he is one of my least favorite actors.

Actually Maverick wasn't that bad. It was one of the few tv remakes I liked. WWW though was awful.

I worked at a movie theater when that came out. It was quite a dud.

I had the misfortune of actually seeing that move in the theater. I'll never get that 2 hours back.
