Im 30 years old, and I find music more enjoyable on vinyl recordings. I think they have a deeper, richer tone to them. Many records I collect are 40+ years old but sound really good. They have very little surface noise. Of course I have two really good stereo consoles and then another 1979 Pioneer Turntable with pitch correction and a tracking arm on it. Never skips. I love the records and the sound is really neat- also the big cover art. I dont think CDs sound very good- but I will admit they are easier to transport.

Pretty much my entire music collection is comprised of hundreds of LP's and 45's, so yes, I do enjoy listening to vinyl records.

YES! I still listen to them and also enjoy looking at the larger cover art.
Having said that, CDs are O.K. They take up less space, but (to be perfectly honest), I never noticed that much of an improvement in the sound. And, on the subject of recordings, I also still listen to cassettes (and have some that, incredibly, are over thirty years old and still play). Unfortunately, a large number of them wore out and had to be discarded, though. The worst format, in my lifetime (and I have lived through vinyl, reel-to-reel tapes, cassettes, and CDs) is the 8-Track tape. I still have some 8-track tapes, but my player went south decades ago. The 8-Track is the Edsel of sound recordings.

8-Track...lol. The minute you pop one of those bad boys into a player these days...the cassete just falls apart.

I miss my albums, but I like CD's because they are portable and less likely to get scratched. Plus, with a turntable, you have to replace the needle every few years. However, I agree.. there's nothing like an album. I do miss 45's however. I loved being able to buy one song at a time. Sure, you can download them now, but it's just not the same!

I still listen to/collect records. About 15 years ago I went to buy a Sound Of Music cd but the store wanted 15.00
I went to the flea market and found an excellent copy for 25 cents-still shrinkwrapped and had the booklet inside. That experience re-ignited my record buying.I like cds for when I am long road trips. |
