Two Wrestlers Set to Enter WWE Hall of Fame

Monday night on Raw, it was announced that "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame this year.


DiBiase is best known for his time with the World Wrestling Federation (now World Wrestling Entertainment) during the 1980s and '90s.

He was one of the best technical wrestlers in the company. Plus, he played his role perfectly as "The Million Dollar Man", a man who was never afraid to throw around his money to get what he wanted. Many times, he would break out a cackling laugh along with his signature phrase "everybody has a price".

While DiBiase was one of the top wrestlers in the company, he somehow never became the world champion. As part of WrestleMania IV in 1988, he lost to "Macho Man" Randy Savage in the final of a tournament to crown a new WWF Champion.



Even before joining Vince McMahon's company, DiBiase had already made a name for himself in various promotions, including Mid-South Wrestling, the National Wrestling Alliance and overseas with All Japan Pro Wrestling.

While it's not known yet who will give his induction speech, it could be his son Ted DiBiase, Jr., who is a current WWE superstar.





While it hasn't been announced yet on WWE television, Japanese star Antonio Inoki will also be a part of the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2010 according to PWInsider.com.

Earlier Tuesday in Tokyo, Japan, the WWE held a ceremony where Inoki officially announced that he was accepting the invitation. He also said he will appear at WrestleMania 26.

Inoki was the founder and owner of New Japan Pro Wrestling. He was also the company's top star for many years and is considered a legend in Japan. He is currently retired at the age of 66.



Inoki is expected to be inducted by Stan Hansen who was arguably his biggest rival.

The WWE Hall of Fame ceremony will be held on Saturday, March 27 at the Dodge Theatre in Phoenix, Arizona, which is the day before WrestleMania 26.

The "Macho Man" snubbed again...

I don't get it. I know there is a rumored personal conflict but that has never gotten in the way with Vince when it comes to anybody.

Randy Savage was able to hold two championship belts for over a year at the HEIGHT of Hulkamania..

He is the first you think of when you get past Hulk Hogan or a lesser extent Ultimate Warrior when you think of the WWF heyday.

Exactly. Case in point: They just announced Wendi Richter as another inductee this year. She left in a very controversial manner after losing the women's title to the Fabulous Moolah.

Anyway, these are some good choices so far this year. Inoki is a legend.

I remember that.

It was the "original " screw job..

But she was a problem. She refused to drop her belt back to Moolah.

So they set up a match with a masked wrestler and the ref put in the quick count...

And off came the mask and Moolah was revealed.

Wendy was not supposed to lose the title.

But she got screwed...and reacted.

STAMFORD, Conn., Mar 22, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- World Wrestling Entertainment today announced that baseball legend Robert "Bob" Uecker will be "in the front row" when he is inducted into the WWE(R) Hall of Fame. Uecker will be inducted by Dick Ebersol, Chairman, NBC Universal Sports & Olympics, at the 2010 WWE Hall of Fame ceremony at the Dodge Theater in Phoenix, Arizona this Saturday. The ceremony will run on USA Network at 11 PM ET.

Bob Uecker, affectionately known as "Mr. Baseball," has a long and glorious history at WrestleMania(R). While best known for his work as the radio play-by-play announcer for the Milwaukee Brewers and his numerous acting credits, he participated in two WrestleManias. In 1987, Uecker appeared as a ringside announcer at WrestleMania III at the Pontiac Silverdome and the next year, Uecker was the backstage interviewer at WrestleMania IV at Trump Plaza in Atlantic City.

"Bob Uecker cemented his place in WWE history with his appearances at WrestleMania III and IV," said WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon. "Seeing the huge hands of WWE Hall of Famer Andre the Giant around Uecker's neck is a clip that became immortalized in pop culture history."

Uecker made his major league debut as a catcher with the Milwaukee Braves in 1962. Uecker also played for the St. Louis Cardinals and won the World Series with the club in 1964. After retiring as a player, Uecker returned to Milwaukee. In 1971, he began calling play-by-play for the Milwaukee Brewers radio broadcasts, a position he holds to this day. Uecker also played the part of "George Owens" on the television sitcom, Mr. Belvedere, and play-by-play announcer "Harry Doyle" in the Major League film series.

Others to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame on March 27, as part of WrestleMania week, include pop culture icon Gorgeous George, Ted "The Million Dollar Man" DiBiase Sr., former Women's Champion Wendi Richter, Maurice "Mad Dog" Vachon, Stu Hart and Japanese legend Antonio Inoki.
