Nikki Fenke is reporting that Christopher Nolan will, in addition to directing the next ''Batman'' movie, be overseeing the oft-rumoured ''Superman'' reboot (*ahem*, the third ''Superman'' reboot).

Great news!... Or is it? Will Nolan try and darken up a series that, unlike the comic caper he's already onboard, doesn't call for it? Superman's supposed to be a light, family adventure - hope Nolan knows that. Sure he does. Right?

Apparently Nolan's task is to try and figure out the best move for the ''Superman series'' to take now. No word on whether the Wachowski's or James McTeigue are involved as previously rumoured.

As for the next Batman film, it was reported earlier this week that David Goyer and Jonah Nolan are working on the script.

I almost wonder if they shouldn't just let the "Superman" series die. I wasn't too crazy about "Superman Returns" and to me, no one but Christopher Reeve is ever going to fit the bill.

I agree. Superman Returns was a dud. It's too soon for a reboot. Give it five more years, then try it.

Let Chris Nolan work on Batman dammit!
