are there any shows that you've "rediscovered" on DVD-I mean haven't seen in YEARS and forrgotten how good they are?

For me, it's "McHALES NAVY"-I hadn't seen this in YEARS (last time was on a local station in the early 80s) and had forgotten how funny it is!

For me it was Land of the Lost. (the original 1970's series)

Magnum P.I. I used to love watching it back in the 80's. I probably hadn't seen an entire episode since it ended in 1988, until I bought the first season last year. I had forgotten just how great this show was.

The awesome theme song, the ferrari, the action, Magnum, Higgins, T.C., Rick, not to mention Zeus and Apollo, you can't get much better than that! They just don't make this type of show anymore.

Actually the first two seasons of Land of the lost were quite good. They had some great Sci-Fi writers on the staff including some people who had worked on Star Trek. (D.C. Fontana, David Gerrold) In the third season these writers were no longer around and the show went in the toilet. The third season was absolutely awful. But the first two seasons when they had great writers who stayed true to established LOL mythology the stories were fun and exciting adventures. Yes the special effects may have been cheesy but put in historical context and remembering that the target audience was children they were perfect for this show. When I purchased the complete series on DVD and started watching the episodes I was transported back to my parents rec room on a saturday morning. And for a few hours i was a 10 ten year old boy again watching the Marshall family avoid dinosaurs and hoping they would find a way home. Land of the Lost the complete series $49.95. Reliving childhood memories priceless!
