Question Difficult Game Show Question (Hopefully someone has the answer)

This is difficult because I am going back to my childhood. The game show took place either in the late 70's or early 80's. I THINK it was hosted by Jim Lange. Anyway, I remember a contestant winning the game and started jumping up & down and all of a sudden the celebration was cut off and the host was in an empty studio saying that the contestant either fell and hurt himself or suffered a heart attack. Who knows it could've been dreamt by me for all I know. lol I THINK the game show was called "Bullseye" but again, my memory is very fuzzy on this.

I spoke to some game show experts and they don't remember this ever happening.....but they also can not say it absolutely never did......it certainly isn't as famous as the few contestants who have passed out during "The Price Is Right", most recently with Drew hosting as well as the famous Barker contestant who passed out after winning both showcases.

If this did indeed happen in the early 80s and Jim Lange was the host, it was either Bullsye or Name That Tune. I don't believe The Dating Game was in production at that time. Hope that helps.

Bullseye - from '81 - '83
Name That Tune - from '84 - '85 with Lange as host

I have one episode of Bullseye as well as name that tune (with kathy lee johnson), yes the one from 1976 in the collectors circuit with original commercials originated from me, mine is the master...not bragging, but for those collectors who all have dubbed down 9th generation copies, the master still is now preserved on DVD, the master originated on 3/4 u-matic tape, the industry video playback back then.

anyway as usual I digress, but on none of those two episodes, no contestants passed out....lol......

have a good day my friend.....

Jim Lange + early 80s = sounds like Bullseye to me.

There should be an episode or two of it on YouTube. Maybe seeing the set would help you remember a little better?

Or could it have been SPINOFF or GIVE N TAKE from the 70s?
Both are short-lived rarities. Then there's TAKE MY WORD FOR IT,
a syndicated show he did originating in San Francisco in the early 80s.
