I know that Nick at Nite won't air the Laverne & Shirley episode, I Do, I Do, due to the fact that Laverne and Shirley eat marijuana laced brownies. Does anyone know other episodes of shows that Nick at Nite won't air because of controversial topics?

I know up until recently, NAN skipped the last 3 seasons of Jeffersons. And let's not even forget about Facts. There's 20-25 episodes that Nick won't show, basically enough for an entire season, they won't air ones such as episodes dealing with drugs, sex and suicide. I am very curious to see how many Diff'rent Strokes episodes they WILL air, LOL

I'll step in to answer that question... 'Breaking Point' an episode dealing with suicide, 'Fear Strikes Back' an episode in which Natalie is a victim of a rape attempt, 'Front Page' an episode that Jo finds out her teacher was involved in a drug bust. Uh... 'I'm Dancing As Fast As I Can' an episode that Blair finds out her boyfriend is a chippendale, there's a few around there that I can't remember, but then comes 'The First Time', an episode that N@N will probably never air...

How hypocritical of N@N, as they air All in the Family, and most of that show's episodes are issue-oriented. Go figure.

Nick also won't air the "Dope" episode of FOL from season 1 (the title says it all, LOL). There's another one from the 81-82 season in which one of Blair's rivals commits suicide after losing a class president award to her. They also won't air the "I Got Beer" episode (Growing Pains from 1981). Surprisingly tho, they air the 82 episode in which Tootie runs off and befriends a young hooker.

Actually they have aired the episode "Growing Pains at least three times. I taped the episode off N@N.

Yes, they did air the Growing Pains episode, both of the times I saw it was on the Make Your Own Sunday. Another point, The Facts of Life has dealt with many hard hitting issues during it's run and they've always been handled very well, you'd think Nick at Nite would air all the episodes since they are handled responsibly, not to mention that Nick at Nite is after all at night, the audience viewing the sitcoms, for the most part are not going to be young children, except maybe The Brady Bunch.
Another point, in the yearbook commercials for The Facts of Life, Natalie's profile contains a scene where she's dressed as Charlie Chaplin, wasn't that from the episode Fear Strikes Back. Why did they use that scene in the commercial when they don't even air the episode? Nick at Nite always skipped the Christmas episode of The Wonder Years where the neighbor is caught smoking marijuana in the basement, although TV Land showed it in their Christmas marathon thing.
Yes that clip is from Fear Strikes Back, also the scene where the teacher writes FACT on the chalkboad is from the episode Front Page. And they've skipped atleast 2 episodes of TC due to subject matter. |

While it's a fact that N@N will not air the "I Do I Do" episode of "Laverne & Shirley," I feel that they should not air "The Playboy Show" since it deals with a magazine publisher whose product I find extremely offensive.

I'm glad they only skipped 2 episodes of Three's Company. "Paradise Lost" and "Going to Pot"
Who knows maybe these two will air in the next cycle! |

They've also skipped "The Chaarm ing Stranger" Episode because Jack's Little Tripper makes an apperence.
------------------ Janet(talking about buying Roper's car): Chrissy, it's the answer to ourprayers. Chrissy:That's not true. Nobody prayed. Janet:Okay, then let's start. Please, God, make Chrissy change her mind. Jack: Or better yet give her one! |

It's strange that they would ignore these subjects . I guess in their little TV land they don't exist. Yet, they air all in the Family that uses words for different ethnic groups, has episodes on abortion , attempted rape and it goes on. Why would this show be the exception ? Makes no sense.
