Default Could you watch in color..?

To my understanding there is technology to turn the old B&W shows to color. I dunno It would be hard to watch this show in color. I just got used to IDOJ in color..

I've said it once and I'll say it again, Color candy coating belongs on M&M's not classic B/W tv shows.

Cool

I like seeing still photos from old TV shows in color. It's kind of a novelty. But I'd much rather watch the episodes themselves in glorious black and white the same way the original audiences saw them.

If it was shot in b&w then I'd rather see it in b&w than color. B&W is so nostalgic...

Out of curiosity I would love to see a colorized episode, or two. Just for novelty's sake.

It is interesting to see those color photos from the show.

I could BUT the b&w adds to the vintage charm of the shows AND no body died while watching the b&w & still gots lots of enjoyment -so basically what I'm saying is...to each their own!!

I agree with you Marv. I love seeing photos from old shows in color or colorized just because it is something new and different. The actual show though, I think is much better in black and white!

Robert Goulet, from the 2nd-season episode "Don't Monkey With Mendel." He played Patty's substitute teacher, of all things.

Oh, yeah, and on the topic of color/b&w, I tend to hate colorization. TPDS had some rather nice, crisp b&w cinematography, actually. It has its own unique look, apart from some of the more familiar house-styles that was being done in the studios back in California. Very appealing, visually.

Of course, had it been shot in color originally, it could have helped with the series' shelf-life in syndication. For quite a number of years, local stations carried a real bias in favor of color rerun shows over the b&w ones.

I read somewhere that one reason this show and some others were cannceled when they were was because TV was converting to color at the time; and it would have been too expensive to film this and a few other shows in color.
