Sonny, Solomon, and myself have all had differing opinions on Wade Phillips, the much-maligned coach of the Cowboys.
Well, I wrote an article on BleacherReport giving my thoughts on this decision: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/3...the-right-move P.S. Sonny, you have mentioned Cowher as the guy you want to succeed Wade. Quite frankly, I think he's a tad overrated- he's had so many bad postseason losses over the years. He's had more playoff chokes than triumphs. Big-name coaches don't always equal on-the-field success- see the Miami Dolphins under Jimmy Johnson. |

That was a very well written article Chris and you made some great points. I agree with you. The Cowboys are making the right decision in sticking with Wade Phillips.

That was a very thought out article Chris. You make some good points about Cowher. I'm not opposed to Wade Phillips returning next year after what the Cowboys had done but I'm not overjoyed either. I still don't think he's that great of a coach. He is and has always been a very good defensive coordinator. What leaves me with a bitter taste in my mouth is the way the Cowboys have ended the last 3 seasons. The last 2 seasons have ended by blowout. If they had been competitive, I wouldn't feel this way. The team should be prepared to play in a playoff game. I also am tired of all the penalties the Cowboys can never fix...most of them stupid. I'm just not convinced that Wade will ever be able to able to get the Cowboys over the hump. The thing about Jimmy in Miami was that it was Dan Marino's team and not his. He could not build the Dolphins the way he would have liked. I guess we'll see what happens next year. I do hope Wade can get us to the SB. I generally like him. But if the Cowboys falter again, I'll continue to call him out.

9 division championships. 2 superbowl appearances, 1 win. 2 conference championships. 59 games over.500. Bill Cowher is one of the most succesful coaches in the NFL, anyone who knows anything about football would agree. Cowher knows how to get the best out of his players.. He's a complete motivator. Overrated? I'd sure want him coaching my team. |

I'm not against Wade just because he hasn't gotten the Cowboys to the SB. It is hard to get a team to the SB. I'm angry at him for the way the team has been prepared for the playoffs in the first place. |
