I wish there was an article released about her being found and the details of where the heck she was for 34 years and who she was living with. I'm sure it would be very interesting.

I just watched this segment online today and something really irked me at the end of this segment that I never really noticed before.
The last time Pat wandered off, she was missing for 13 months before she surfaced in San Diego. Parts of her memory had returned and she gave a welfare worker her maiden name as well as her birth place. Through this information, the welfare worker was able to track down Pat's aunt who lived in Birmingham, Alabama. After a phone call to her, the aunt said believed that Pat was still in Houston and did nothing to follow up. That was the last time anyone saw or heard from Pat. So, let me get this straight. Your niece is missing for over a year. Then out of the blue, you get a phone call from a woman claiming to be her, but you don't believe it's her because she's calling from California instead of Texas? Then you do nothing about it. What was the aunt thinking? If she would have followed up on this phone call, the entire family would have been spared 34 years of searching for Pat. It's a miracle that she was found and I'm happy she was found. But it's amazing that Pat could have been reunited with her family in 1972 instead of 2004 if the aunt actually did something with that phone call from the welfare worker. |

The way Troy Carlton spoke at the end of the segment about how he cant be with Pat anymore because he's re-married and has children, yet he just wants to know she's alive and well, made me feel so badly for him. He was tearing up as he said it but you could feel the pain in his voice from not knowing her whereabouts for over 20 years. He died not knowing what happened to her.
