Does anyone think that after a 4 year difference between season 4 and 5 that WB will package season 5 differently to the rest? Season 1, 2 and 3 were all the same, all be it some were thinner than the others and season 4 was packaged the same but with two thin cases in a digipak.

I hope they dont alter the package drastically and being 3 discs (instead of 4) it should be in the same package as the other seasons. Unless they do a Happy Days style package where its in an amaray case. That would suck.

It's possible, especially after such a long delay. If they had to pay more for the music rights, they might try to cut back on the packaging.
It's happened a couple of times on series I collect...but I also have to say that while I'd LIKE the packaging to be the same, I'd rather bite the bullet on that just to have the episodes on DVD.

Another worry would be the editing on some of the music...whether they try to cut some of it. I see that possibly being a big problem on Season 6.
And when they release Season 6, I hope they put the blooper show in, even if that means going to a fourth DVD!!!!

I am very pleased to hear this news! I have been a regular visitor of TVShowsOnDVD since 2004 and I check it every single morning. News about Fresh Prince Season 5 has been something I have been waiting to see on there for years! It is hard to believe that Season 4 came out in August 2006 when I first moved to the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. Now Season 5 finally comes out a month after I graduate and move out of town. I came very close to recording Seasons 5 and 6 off of TBS last fall, but I decided to keep holding out for the DVD.

The thing I am excited most about the Season 5 DVD release is the episode with Sherman Hemsley and Isabel Sanford appearing as The Jeffersons where they get into a fight with Will and Lisa. That is one of my favorite eps and every time I see it on TV I have to watch it.

That IS a classic episode...I loved Lisa's imitation of Will ... "Cause I'm the m---aaayyynnn", which is so spot-on Will is forced to say "Well-played"...and then he launches into a hilarious imitation of Lisa.
And then the other two ladies to the right..."We know...'cause you da man!"
Fantastic!

Did Fresh Prince even have all that much music?
All I can think of is Tom Jones - It's Not Unusual lol.

No wonder we're never gonna get Wonder Years...

Well this is great news because I was not buying anymore seasons after season 5 because most of season 6 is what I recorded from NBC. For some reason I dont remember season 5 but I want to see the scene at the beginning of season 5 you don't see in syndication when will is thrown into the NBC and taken back to Bel_air

I'm not sure if there is different syndication packages, but I have seen this scene in syndication before, most recently on the Canadian network, YTV. I tend to think that there is different syndication packages for this show because when I see this show on TBS, it seems like it is edited much more then other networks. The runtimes for the episodes that appeaared on YTV are about 21:50-22:00 minutes in length.
