Default Dancing

Do any of you ever go out dancing at clubs? I personally hate it because to me it's not dancing, it's basically just having a safe form of sex in public. I went out to one last week with friends and those of us who don't care for that way of dancing tried to stay nearer the corner. Guys watch like vultures and I freak out sometimes because I do not want to be backed up on, thanks.

That's one thing about old timey times I miss, the dancing. Not that I ever experienced it any other way, but I know that in older times guys would actually ASK you to dance. Nowaday you can be dancing and turn around and there's some guy getting his groove on right on you and you didn't even know it. And that, my friends, is how people meet their mates these days. Great. No wonder I'm single.

Opinions? What do you all think of it?

i agree with you. dancing now is pretty much just having sex on the dancefloor. first of all, i don't need to see that...second of all, i don't wanna do that either, and im talking about school dances here, not clubs :x.

i cant dance anyway. but i do enjoy looking like a moron attempting to i just tend to ignore the sexfest going on with everyone else.

I'm not really into dance clubs. I'm more into bars/hookah bars and music venues; not much dance.

I dont really dance because I dont really like it, and I will be the first to admit that I am a horrible dancer. I also dont go to clubs because its way too loud, I dont like the music they play, and its hard to talk to someone when you cant even hear yourself think.

Occasionaly my friends will put on a dance party for somebody's birthday or some occasion, and people will dance, but its mostly silly having a good time kind of dancing and not the sex filled stuff they do in certain clubs.

Nope, I don't dance. You're right, it's just simulated sex these days anyway, and even when it wasn't, I was too shy and withdrawn to feel comfortable out there.

I've danced at weddings (when it's kind of 'required'), but otherwise, you can catch me at the punch bowl, lol.

I am SO not a club/bar person, and I have two left feet anyway. I would always be worrying if I was on the dance floor that someone would be slipping something into my drink. So I stay far away from places like that.

I've never actually been to a club hahaha . But I agree with you about the simulated sex part. It's pretty groady.

I don't know how to dance. I had to dance at my brother's wedding in 2002. I probably looked like a complete idiot.

Hey, I've danced at weddings before and have looked like a complete idiot - so there's nothing to be ashamed of! Plus, most of the guests at that point were plastered, so they didn't even notice.

I live in a really small town so we don't really have any clubs, but I doubt I'd like them much even if we did.

I'm fairly sure that I look like an idiot on many occasions that have nothing to do with dancing.

It's not so much looking like an idiot as I just FEEL like an idiot when I dance lol. It's just not my thing. But to be quite honest, I worry more about the way other people dance than how I do. I think part of it IS looking stupid because it's fun...but some people go overboard. X that, most people.

Oh, I love to dance!!!

When I was in my 20's, I lived on the dance floor. Used to go out to bars, clubs, etc., and literally dance the night away (three days of week)...

Ahh, I could barely handle one night! lol I think it's the more confident you are, the more confident you are with dancing. Me? Not so much. Plus, there's the other reasons I mentioned.
