I loved Mary Lou Retton back in the day. I thought she was so cool because she's the same height as me! And it's really cool to find out we're the same age as well!

I bought my first VCR in 1984 (it had a wired remote lol)

I taped a lot of the '84 Summer Games, including a lot of the gymnastics stuff.

For the past few months, I've been pouring through a couple hundred VHS tapes to see what I want to put onto DVD, and I found a lot of the Olympic stuff including some of the opening ceremonies in Los Angeles.

Mary Lou was great in those games (obviously). The only downer on it was that she was denied the satisfaction of beating the Soviet Union because of their boycott. But the Romanians had a great team that year.
