The Food critic comes into Jack's Bistro and leaves in 5 min and then Jack thinks he will get a bad review. But the strange scene was the critic calling jack at home and just met him. How would the critic know Jack's HOME NUMBER? Wouldn't it made more sense for Jack to receive the call at the Bistro because we know that the phone number to the Bistro was a public number.
Just don't see how the critic was able to get Jack's home number. |

Yeah, it probably would have made more sense for him to be called at the Bistro, but to go along with what happened...I'm sure it was possible for him to look Jack up in a phonebook or something.

Good Point, I forgot that that would have been difficult because not only did Jack live with other people but the phone was in service before he got there-lol |

While we are on the topic of this episode, there is something else that I would like to add to the equation. Being that the study of left-handedness is one of my favorite hobbies, I tend to notice one a mile away! I am sure that I could look up the name of the actor who played the food critic, but for right now what I would like to say about him is that he was a representitive of the left-handed community! After taking a couple of bites of Jack's food, he started taking notes with his pen in his left hand. As far as I know, this show only had one lefty who was ever a regular. This was the actress who played Terri. It is nice to see that these people were also represented in the list of guest stars!

![]() I noticed Priscilla Barnes as a lefty as well. There was one ep, I think where she was seeing the psychiatrist played by Jeffrey Tambor, where she had to eat salad w/ a fork right-handed, so that Janet could hold her hand down so she couldn't eat. She then switched to her left to keep Janet from stopping her from eating the salad. The only time that I ever recall seeing her write was when they were all writing down suggestions for the name of Jack's restaurant. Of course she provides the name inadvertantly when she says something like "Why is it so hard to come up with a name for Jack's Bistro?".

I think the part that made no sense was with the mailman in the apartment

Remember the episode about a girl who thought she was pregnant by Larry (who was using Jack's name)? Larry (as Jack) on the phone with her asked how she got the number and said she looked it up in the phone book!

this is one of my all-time favorite episodes! Especially the parts where Terri is trying to stall the critic from going into his office ("DO YOU HAVE TO GO INTO YOUR OFFICE RIGHT NOW???" And when Janet goes in looking for Jack, first looking all over and then finally doing the same thing Terri did, talking loudly for Jack to hear ("Because THE COAST IS CLEAR!" )
