Yeah unemployment rate in Cleveland is pretty bad too especially for blacks. I know that there's a lot of blacks unemployed in Detroit too. That's why i'm sticking with the 2 jobs i got. Sometimes people tell me to change jobs but for what? LOL.

Well at least Michigan is number one for something. We have had the highest unemployment rate for over five years now, and thats largely due to the decline in the automotive and manufacturing industries. Despite that I still have my faith, and am staying positive even though some days its not easy.

I have a friend who is originally from Michigan and really wants to move back for family reasons but he is waiting until things get a little better there.

My county has like 10% unemployment, so we're not that far behind.

Well, I for one, am thankful to be living where I am living right now. AFAIK, we have a pretty low unemployment rate (3.9%, according to a July 2009 article I found on my town's newspaper site) I had no problems transitioning between jobs when I quit my last job last year to move over to the one I'm at now. Only took two months - thankful for that also. I know people who look for work for a LOT longer than two months. Like hell I'm leaving my job anytime soon.
![]() So... Come to ND! There are jobs here for you guys!

I fully intend to move back to Michigan someday, but not until I stand a chance of finding a job there.
That's the old hometeam, #1 in unemployment, dead last in the NFL. |

I feel bad for unemployed people because i know it's hard to get a job and keep it. I feel that a lot of jobs take advantage of employees especially blacks and hispanics because most jobs won't give you medical and dental benefits. Some jobs wanna pay you a low salary and that's wrong also. Unemployed blacks can't afford to go to job training school so they can learn some job skills because they don't have the money. Plus a lot of black men don't like school anyway. So that's another reason why they won't go LOL. I was unemployed 8 years ago and i wanted to commit suicide because i got tired of waiting on jobs to call me. I lucked up and got 2 jobs now and i'm thankful because i was so depressed 8 years ago being unemployed. I know i don't have a lot of job skills and that's why it was so hard for me to get a job back then. I've been fired from several jobs and i've quit a few jobs. I'm not afraid to admit that i have a learning disability unlike most unemployed black men who are afraid to admit they have a problem learning and remembering how to do a job because that's what's preventing them from getting a job. Some other things that prevents unemployed black men from getting a job is because they have a criminal record and they refuse to wear the right clothes and talk proper when they go to a job interview.

I regret voting for Barack because he hasn't done much to help poor unemployed blacks get jobs but i can't put all the blame on him for so many people being outta work. Getting a job is tough and it can be depressing and frustrating when you aren't working. That's why i understand some people who kill themselves because they're poor and unemployed. I don't judge suicidal people and i wish that people would stop judging suicidal people because being poor and unemployed can make you wanna kill yourself.
