How come william Never talked about her dad

In all the years I have watched The Flintstones, I have never noticed any reference to Wilma's father. Maybe he passed away long before she met Fred.

Could be he was never mentioned once. For that matter Fred never mentioned anything about his parents.

Not only that but Betty only mentined her mother a few times, and the only time Barney mentioned his family is when it turned out he was the long lost nephew of Mr. Slate.
