Default Why Not Classic Carson Shows till Leno Returns?

Alright, maybe it would appear embarrasing to NBC, but let's face it, how much more embarrasing can they look??? If this was advertised the correct way...and license issues might be a problem, but here is a fantasy "never will happen" programmng suggestion to fill the 11:35PM void till Leno returns to "his" show.........

CLASSIC CARSON! Unedited and completely aired as originally intended, which would include his entire final week! You can't argue that this would garner HUGE ratings and be a nice tribute to the man that ALL latenite hosts admire and wouldn't ever take any jabs at! C'mon Zucker (like you're reading this...lol) if you like taking programming risks so much, give us Carson in late night again and I don't mean Daly!

BTW....I still have my Conan Episode #1 VHS tape and tonight, January 22, 2010...I will record the last NBC episode and they will live in my archives forever!

As-is my understanding, NBC doesn't own the rights to Johnny's version. As such, they'd have to pay to lease it - something they don't want to do considering how many tens of millions they've already lost.

Besides, the idea makes too much sense.

Thanks for the info but if you notice in my original post, I did mention that license issues could be a problem for the actual idea to possibily happen since I knew Carson Productions owned the show and may not even be interested.....but considering how much money NBC already lost, I thought it would cause some good buzz if they brought "The King Of Late Night" back just for a limited time...I'm sure record breaking audiences would tune in again to see Johnny's final week broadcast again.....then Leno could start all over again, just like it happened originally....to me...a pretty good original idea.....but I don't want to brag......lol

Here is a better idea. Fire Leno, O'Brian, Lettermen and those other losers and just show reruns of the Johnny Carson. That would be the perfect plan.

Cool

Hey, TeeVeeCloset, you've put a lot more thought into the whole situation than TIIC at NBC have! You'd do a lot better than Jeff Zucker, for sure.
