You can't keep a good Hoff down.

A couple weeks after NBC announced David Hasselhoff was leaving his judging post on NBC's "America's Got Talent," A&E has ordered a new reality series with the actor. The 10-episode series focuses on the actor's entertainment endeavors and helping his teenage daughters break into the recording industry. The series is from FremantleMedia North America and will debut this year.

“It’s the dream of every parent to be able to help their children succeed,” Hasselhoff said. “I told the girls that I would help them open the door when they are ready, but they would have to walk through it on their own. This is their time and I am excited to be a part of it."

Sounds like A&E wanted a Hasselhoff show and Hasselhoff wanted to help his daughters. Everybody wins -- except the viewers, who don't give a hoot about the daughters and just want to see The Hoff get drunk and try to pick up women in bars ("No, I was in the other 'Knight Rider'").

NBC recently announced Hasselhoff would be replaced with Howie Mandel on "Talent." Hasselhoff apparently holds the world record from Guinness as "The Most Watched TV Star in the World."
